We did it! And my ticker held out!

Daures or Brandberg Mountain is the highest mountain in Namibia and has a reputation for keeping people off. Mainly because of some pretty tough conditions which make an ascent quite an epic! Liz, Tivon and I joined the Kinahan family to climb up the Hungarob ravine from ca. 600m ASL to the Snakerock shelter at ca. 2100m ASL over the past weekend, spending 4 nights on the mountain. We were fortunate that there was bountiful water in the ravines and on the upper Berg, following exceptional rains in the past 3-4 months.

My flickr account shows some of the sights we experienced up there. It's a must-see place for anyone with an interest in rock art!
